Insurance Information

Updated 9/14/17 - New information for the 2017-18 school about the partnership with the R.I. Trust for optional insurance.

The Smithfield Public Schools, has partnered with the Rhode Island Interlocal Risk Management Trust and Worth Ave. Group to offer optional insurance to protect the Chromebooks used by the school's students, teachers and staff. By working through the the Rhode Island Interlocal Risk Management Trust, Smithfield was able to obtain better group pricing and an improved level of service than in previous years. However, there is now an enrollment deadline of 10/1/17.

Insurance with Worth Ave. Group through the R.I. Trust will protect the Chromebook against:
  • Accidental damage
  • Liquid submersion
  • Cracked screen
  • Theft, burglary, and robbery
  • Fire and flood
  • Earthquake and natural disaster
  • Tornado and hurricane
  • Power surge
  • Vandalism
This 3rd-party insurance policy will provide replacement cost coverage and protect the Chromebook worldwide (on and off school grounds).

The Smithfield Public Schools will not be handling any paperwork, payments or claims as part of this optional insurance. All communication must be made to RI Trust and Worth Ave Group directly.
